What is Sentence ?
In simple terms, a sentence is a group of words which makes a complete sense.
For example:- The sky is blue.
Kinds of Sentences
Sentences are of following kinds :
1) Assertive Sentence ( सामान्य वाक्य )
2) Interrogative Sentence (प्रश्नसूचक वाक्य )
3) Imperative Sentence ( आज्ञा सूचक वाक्य )
4) Exclamatory Sentence (विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य )
5) Optative Sentence ( इच्छा सूचक वाक्य )
1) Assertive Sentence:- An assertive sentence is a sentence that says about a fact. They declare or state something.
सामान्य वाक्य - जिन वाक्यों में किसी तथ्य को बताया गया हो या किसी बात की घोषणा की गई हो, उन्हें सामान्य वाक्य कहा जाता है।
It is of two kinds:
a) Affirmative Sentence: Any positive statement is said to be an affirmative sentence.
सकारात्मक वाक्य - जिन वाक्यों में स्वीकारोक्ति का भाव होता है, उन्हें सकारात्मक वाक्य कहा जाता है।
Examples:-
1) The sun shines in the sky.
2) The roses are fragrant.
b) Negative Sentence: A statement in no is said to be an negative sentence.
नकारात्मक वाक्य - जिन वाक्यों में नहीं का भाव होता है, उन्हें नकारात्मक वाक्य कहा जाता है।
Examples:-
1) You do not have any manner at all.
2) Ramu doesn't single a melodious song.
2) Interrogative Sentence:- An interrogative sentence is a sentence when question is asked in a sentence, that is said to be an Interrogative Sentence.
प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य - ऐसे वाक्य जिनमें कोई प्रश्न पूछा जाता है। प्रश्नवाचक या प्रश्नसूचक वाक्य कहे जाते हैं।
Examples
1) Why are you sad?
2) Where is she going?
Note:- इन वाक्यों के अंत में सदैव प्रश्नवाचक चिह्न (?) का प्रयोग होता है।
3) Imperative Sentence:- Sentence which express order ,suggestion, request etc. are said to be Imperative Sentence.
आज्ञासूचक वाक्य - जिन वाक्यों से कोई निर्देश, आदेश, प जाता है। प्रश्नवाचक या प्रश्नसूचक वाक्य कहे जाते हैं।
Examples
1) Go there.
2) Stop here
3) Please stand up.
4) Exclamatory Sentence:- Sentence which express some strong emotions or feelings such as joy, regrets, sorrow, surprise etc are said to be Exclamatory Sentence.
विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य - जिन वाक्यों से मन में उठने वाले तीव्र भावनात्मक भाव प्रदर्शित होते हैं उन्हें विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य कहा जाता है।
Examples
1) Hurrah! We have won the match.
2) Oh ! What a beautiful flower it is!
5) Optative Sentence:- Sentence which express some wish, curse, prayer etc are said to be Optative Sentence.
इच्छासूचक वाक्य - जिन वाक्यों में इच्छा,शाप अथवा प्रार्थना का भाव प्रदर्शित होता हैं उन्हें इच्छासूचक वाक्य कहा जाता है।
Examples
1) May God bless you!
2) Happy Birthday to you!
