    Subject and Predicate

    A complete sentence has two part - subject and predicate. 

    Subject :- The main part of sentence which is a doer in the sentence it can be noun , pronoun, or phrase that does the work of  noun in a sentence.

* The subject usually give the answer of questions "Who" and "What".

* A subject can be a single or group of words but serve as a unit.

   For ex. :- He is watching a movie. ( here "he" is a subject in this                             sentence, as "He" is a doer)

    Predicate :- The predicate tell us about the subject. It is generally start with a verb.

* It include the verbs and all the words that are used to tell something about the subject and complete a sentence.

* The predicate answers the question "what happened" and "what is happening" to the subject.

    For ex. :- He is watching a movie. ( here "is watching a movie" is a predicate in this sentence, as "He" is a doer)                          

Exercise 

 A) Write a suitable subject for given sentences. Leave blank where a subject is not required.

        1. The Flight landed safely an hour ago.

        2. Please wait outside. I'm coming.

        3. He goes to office every morning.

        4. The beach is my favorite place to go.

        5. I love watching movie.

        6. The child has a room full of toys.

        7. Please shut the window. It's raining.

        8. We watched a movie about aliens last week.

        9. My aunt lives in small hill station near srinagar.

       10. He asked for directions from the passer by.

       11.Please don't make noise. The baby is sleeping.
